About

My name is Laurel and I am obsessed with design and the color red. I am currently studying architecture in Boston, but I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and I am a California girl at heart. My mom is also from Indiana, but her family is mostly from Kentucky; I've picked up a bit of a southern accent from her. I tend to toss out a "y'all" quite often.  My slang is basically all over the place. I'm likely to say, "That is a hella wicked diesel chair, y'all! But when I sat on it, I realized it's totally jenky!" Now who understood what that means??? heehee :)

I am rather bipolar about my design interests. I like modern, I like traditional, I like masculine, I like feminine. Hell, I like it all. I tend to get super excited about Spanish style homes as they remind me of home. I grew up in a bright orange spanish style house with a big arched window. California mission style homes, holla!

I tend to categorize design in to life periods. I see modern stuff and I think, "Hell yeah! I want that for the loft I'll renovate and live in when I'm in my single twenties!"

I see something that's super rustic and think, "Sweet! I want this for the little creekside cottage I'll build when I'm first married!"

I find a great roughly sewn leather and wood couch and I'm all, "Superb! This wil look great with the mission style furniture in my dream Spanish Style mansion that I'll never actually be able to afford!"

Basically, I'm an extremely optimistic person, who loves pretty much everything. :)

I am terrible with sources! If you know where one of the photos I've posted comes from shout out and tell me!!!

(In elementary school I decided that every sentence should end with an exclamation point. I tend to still fall into this habit. I am generally just really excited about everything!!)
